Artist Statement

The designs and images taken from old collectibles, such as porcelain figurines and fine china evoke palpable shards of memory serving history as humble paradigms. As archetypes, these objects inspire me with their position in the domestic realm. Everyday, they sit on shelves in the parts of the home where lips touch teacups, recipes are passed down and secrets shed. Juxtaposing the intimacy of the handmade with casts of found objects gives me the chance to create new narratives in porcelain.
